Rebar was pleased to be invited to participate in the conference, exhibition and publication of Ecological Urbanism: Alternative and Sustainable Cities of the Future.
The 2009 conference brought together design practitioners and theorists, economists, engineers, environmental scientists, politicians and public health specialists, with the goal of reaching a more robust understanding of ecological urbanism and what it might be in the future.
Rebar led a public tour with Bushwaffle through the streets and alleys of Cambridge, MA. Bushwaffle remained on display in the GSD gallery atrium. At the conference we were invited to give a four minute talk and we used the opportunity to presented on User-Generated Urbanism.
The transcript of the presentation and images of our work are included in the excellent publication edited by Mohsen Mostafavi with Gareth Doherty: Ecological Urbanism.
